ONLINE BANKING FAQ

 

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR ONLINE BANKING?
Venture Bank offers online banking to both its personal and business banking customers. Enrolling online is secure and convenient. Simply complete either the Personal Enrollment form or the Corporate Enrollment form and then click the "Send in Enrollment" button. Customers can also enroll in online banking at any of our financial centers.

 

HOW DO I BECOME A VENTURE BANK CUSTOMER?
If you would like to open a personal account at Venture Bank, you can begin the process from home by submitting a New Account Request. A Financial Service Specialist will contact you within 2 business days to schedule an in-branch appointment to complete the application. Or, you can open an account at any of our financial centers.

 

WHEN CAN I BEGIN USING ONLINE BANKING?
Upon completing the enrollment process you can access Venture Bank's Online Banking system as soon as you receive a welcome letter containing your Online Banking Identification Number (ID). It should arrive within ten business days from the date of enrollment. If you do not receive your welcome letter, please notify Venture Bank immediately.

 

HOW MUCH DOES VENTURE BANK ONLINE BANKING COST?
Venture Bank provides Online Banking free of charge.

 

CAN ANYONE ELSE SEE MY ONLINE ACCOUNT INFORMATION?
Your Venture Bank online account information is available only through access methods which have been rigorously tested for their secure access. The information is not public. You can access it only by entering your Online Banking ID and PIN.

 

CAN I VIEW ALL OF MY ACCOUNTS ONLINE?
You can view Venture Bank personal checking, savings, certificate of deposit, individual retirement, and loan accounts.

 

HOW MUCH OF MY ACCOUNT HISTORY CAN I VIEW ONLINE?
Online Banking retains approximately 90 days worth of activity for immediate viewing. You can view current activity as well as your last 3 statements from the Online Banking website. Statements more than 90 days old can be requested from any of our financial centers or by contacting Venture Bank's Customer Care Center at (888) 373-2265.

 

CAN I TRANSFER FUNDS BETWEEN MY ACCOUNTS?
Yes, you can transfer funds between like accounts that are listed under the same Online Banking ID.

From the Accounts, click the drop-down menu for the account you wish to transfer from and select Transfers.

From the Funds Transfer page,
Select the account you wish to transfer to,
Enter the transfer amount,
Select the frequency,
Click the Submit button,
Review your transfer details and Confirm the transfer.

You will be given a CONFIRMATION NUMBER and ACCOUNT TRANSFER DETAILS to verify that the transfer was successful.

 

CAN I CHANGE MY ONLINE BANKING ID OR MY PIN?
Yes. Changing your Online Banking ID and/or PIN is a simple process. After you sign into online banking, click the Options tab. On the line below the Options tab, select Personal. If you want to change your PIN, enter your current PIN number and then enter your new PIN in each of the two fields provided. Click Submit. If you want to change your Personal ID or E-mail Address, enter the new information in the fields provided and click Submit.

 

WHAT DO I DO IF I FORGET MY ONLINE BANKING ID OR PIN NUMBER?
If you forget your Venture Bank Online Banking ID or PIN, you can stop by any of our financial centers and a Customer Service Representative will be happy to assist you. If that is not convenient, please call (888) 373-2265 or click here to contact us.

 

CAN I USE ONLINE BANKING WHILE I AM OVERSEAS?
Yes, Venture Bank's online banking is an excellent choice if you are going to be out of the country for an extended period. It can be used to balance your statement and even transfer funds.

 

CAN I USE VENTURE BANK'S ONLINE BANKING SERVICE FOR MY BUSINESS ACCOUNTS?
Yes, business customers may take full advantage of Venture Bank's online banking features.

E-STATEMENTS FAQ

 

WHAT ARE E-STATEMENTS?
e-Statements are an electronic delivery of your monthly or quarterly statements. e-Statements take the place of your mailed paper statement.

 

HOW MUCH DO E-STATEMENTS COST?
There is no charge for e-Statements.

 

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR E-STATEMENTS?

  • Log in to Online Banking
  • Click on the e-Statement tab
  • The next page will have four (4) items to review or check:
    1. Accounts and Documents Enrolled – click Details and make sure all of the accounts have a check mark beside them.
    2. Review your e-mail address
    3. Security phrase. This is a phrase you create which will be used on all e-Statement notifications from Venture Bank.
    4. Terms and Conditions – make sure you check ‘I agree to the listed terms’
  • Click 'Enroll Now'
  • You will receive an e-mail verifying your enrollment

WHAT ARE THE RECOMMENDED SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS?

  • You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader® version 6.0 or higher to open and view your statement(s) and notices. To download the latest version or Adobe Acrobat Reader®, click here www.adobe.com.
  • We also recommend that you use the latest browser version available that supports 128 bit SSL Encryption.
  • You will need e-mail access with at least 1 MB of free space to receive your statement(s) and notice(s).

WHAT BROWSER WORKS BEST FOR E-STATEMENTS?
For maximum performance, we recommend that you use Microsoft Internet Explorer.

 

WHY DO I HAVE TO GIVE MY E-MAIL ADDRESS WHEN I SIGN UP?
Your statement(s) and notice(s) will be sent to the e-mail address that is on file with Venture Bank. You are responsible for keeping your e-mail address updated through your Venture Bank online account or mailed to Venture Bank, Customer Care Center, PO Box 970, DuPont, WA 98327. Your e-mail address cannot be limited to receiving communications transmitted solely by Venture Bank.

 

HOW DO I CHANGE MY E-MAIL ADDRESS?
Click on the Options tab within Online Banking and make the changes.

 

WILL MY E-STATEMENT BE AVAILABLE IF FOR SOME REASON I DON'T RECEIVE MY E-MAIL NOTIFICATION?
Yes, your e-Statement and e-mail notification are independent of one another. If you do not receive your e-mail notification, your e-Statement will still be accessible through Online Banking.

 

CAN I PRINT MY E-STATEMENT?
Yes, you will need to have a printer available to print your e-Statement.

 

CAN I GET MY E-STATEMENT E-MAILED TO ME?
No, your e-Statement cannot be e-mailed to you. E-mail is not secure.

 

HOW LONG WILL MY E-STATEMENT BE AVAILABLE ONLINE?
Your e-Statement will be available for three (3) months. Be sure to save your e-Statement to your computer for future viewing.

WHAT IS BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
Business eSolutions is Venture Bank's most complete money management system for running your business at the touch of a key. We offer three levels of Business eSolutions:

Simplified Business eSolutions: Online Banking
Enhanced Business eSolutions: Online Banking and Business Bill Pay
Premium Business eSolutions: Online Banking, Business Bill Pay, and Cash Management

 

HOW MUCH DOES BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS COST?
Simplified Business eSolutions is Free.
Enhanced Business eSolutions is Free for first year, and $5.95 per month thereafter.
Premium Business eSolutions is $25 per month (base fee) and additional fees** may apply.

** Additional Premium Business eSolutions fees may include:

ACH: $.08 per item
Stop Payment: $22 each (online payments)
Wire Fee: $20 each (domestic outgoing wires)
Electronic Tax Payments: $1 each

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PREMIUM BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
Providing flexibility and convenience, Premium Business eSolutions includes Online Banking, Business Bill Pay, and cash management features that allow you to process ACH items (such as direct deposit payroll, billing, and cash (concentration), send wire transfers, view transaction histories, download statements, and place stop payments from your home or office.

 

DO I HAVE TO USE ALL OF THE CASH MANAGEMENT FEATURES PROVIDED IN THE PREMIUM BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS PRODUCT?
No. During the enrollment process, you select the cash management features you want to use.

 

HOW DO I APPLY FOR BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
If you are currently a Venture Bank business customer, you can apply online for either Simplified or Enhanced Business eSolutions. Enrollment links are located on our Business eSolutions page. PLEASE NOTE: Enhanced Business eSolutions requires separate enrollments for Online Banking and Business Bill Pay.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ENROLL IN BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
The initial approval process is generally 2 business days after Venture Bank receives the completed application and required paperwork.

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SETUP MY BUSINESS IN PREMIUM BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
The setup time will vary from business to business. After the customer is approved, we will create your Premium Business eSolutions account. A Venture Bank employee will contact you to schedule an appointment for on-site training.

 

DO I RECEIVE TRAINING FOR BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
When you are set up in Premium Business eSolutions we provide personalized training at your place of business to show you how to use the product.

 

HOW LONG DOES THE BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS TRAINING TAKE?
Typically, on-site training for Premium Business eSolutions lasts 1 1/2 hours, however this time can vary depending on the number of cash management product features and customer questions. We will provide whatever training is necessary to ensure our customers are comfortable using any of our Business eSolutions products.

 

DOES THE BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS TRAINING COST ANYTHING?
Venture Bank provides this training free of charge.

 

WHAT COMPUTER SYSTEM DO I NEED TO USE BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
You can use any computer that has Internet access and 128-bit encryption.

 

HOW MANY ACCOUNTS CAN I SET UP IN BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
Customers can set up as many accounts as they would like as long as all of the accounts have the same Tax Identification Number (TIN).

 

HOW MANY OTHER EMPLOYEES CAN I SET UP IN PREMIUM BUSINESS eSOLUTIONS?
The business owner is usually set up as account administrator. As the administrator, you can grant access to as many people as you would like.

 

CAN I DOWNLOAD INFORMATION AND HAVE STATEMENTS AUTO-RECONCILED?
Yes. Online Banking allows you to download your transactions into a format that is compatible with Microsoft Money, spreadsheet applications, and text files. If you enroll in either Enhanced or Premium Business eSolutions, you can also download your Business Bill Pay transactions directly into Quicken, QuickBooks, Microsoft Money, or spreadsheet applications.

 

CAN I ADD STOP PAYMENTS?
Yes. Business eSolutions allows you to add stop payments to items issued from your account. Stop payment fees apply and are automatically deducted from your account.

 

CAN I WAIVE STOP PAYMENT FEES?
Currently the system does not provide the ability to waive fees for stop payments that are issued through our online banking services.

 

CAN I DO MY OWN ACH ORIGINATION?
Yes, Premium Business eSolutions allows authorized users to originate ACH from any computer.

 

DO I HAVE TO INITIATE RECURRING ACH TRANSACTIONS OR CAN THIS BE SET UP AUTOMATICALLY>?
You have to initiate your recurring ACH transactions each time the file is transmitted because it must be approved by an authorized person within the company that is sending the file.

 

CAN WIRE TRANSFERS BE SENT AT ANY TIME?
Wire transfers can only be sent between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (PST). However, Premium Business eSolutions allows you to set up your wire transfers at anytime.

 

WHAT IS POSITIVE PAY?
Positive Pay is a cash management product that allows you to send an electronic file in a specified format to Venture Bank listing all of the items that were issued from your account. As the items are presented against your account, the system matches specified parts of the items, such as account number, serial number, and amount, to the items listed in the file you sent to the bank. This process confirms the validity of each item as it attempts to post to your account. Positive Pay is designed for business customers who electronically issue large volumes of items, usually in batches. The files listing the items are transmitted from the customer to the bank immediately upon issuing the items. Positive Pay is not used on accounts that issue hand written checks.

 

DOES VENTURE BANK OFFER POSITIVE PAY?
Positive Pay is typically offered to businesses who are enrolled in Premium Business eSolutions and issue a large number of items. If you are interested in adding Positive Pay to your Premium Business eSolutions account, please visit your local financial center or call (888) 373-2265 to set up a consultation.

PERSONAL BILL PAY FAQ

 

WHAT IS PERSONAL BILL PAY & HOW DOES IT WORK?
Venture Bank Personal Bill Pay, provided through CheckFree, provides two services in one. First, the bill payment service lets you receive and pay bills online. The only payments you cannot make through your bill payment service are court-ordered payments, state and federal tax payments, and international payments. You can use payment accounts that you specify - accounts you already have with Venture Bank.

 

HOW MUCH DOES VENTURE BANK PERSONAL BILL PAY SERVICE COST?
Venture Bank offers Personal Bill Pay free of charge.

 

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR WEB BILL PAY & WHEN CAN I BEGIN USING IT?
Venture Bank offers online enrollment for Personal Bill Pay to our personal banking customers. From the Online Services page on our website, click on Enrollment under Personal Bill Pay. To complete the enrollment you will need your Social Security Number, your driver's license number, and your checkbook. Once your enrollment is complete and has been accepted you can begin using Personal Bill Pay immediately. You can also enroll at any of our convenient financial center locations.

 

WHY DO I HAVE TO CONFIRM MY PERSONAL BILL PAY PAYMENT ACCOUNT?
Confirming your payment account within Personal Bill Pay is part of the verification process and enables you to use all the features of Venture Bank's Personal Bill Pay service through Checkfree. Until you confirm your payment account within Personal Bill Pay, there is a limit to the total dollar amount of the payments you may send or receive. CheckFree will make 2 small deposits and one withdrawal (equal to the total of the deposits) into your payment account. When you look at your Online Banking account, or your bank statement, you will see the Account Confirmation Transactions which have ACCTCONFRM in the description. You will need to know the amount of the two deposits to confirm your payment account through Personal Bill Pay.

 

WHY DO I HAVE LIMITS FOR UNCONFIRMED ACCOUNTS?
This is for your protection in case someone is using your account without your authorization. After you confirm your account using information that only you or someone you authorize to use your account can know, your payment limits are re-evaluated.

 

HOW SECURE IS THE INFORMATION I GIVE ON THE PERSONAL BILL PAY SITE?
CheckFree uses several methods to ensure that your information is secure. SSL: CheckFree uses SSL (secure socket layer) which ensures that your connection and information are secure from outside inspection. ENCRYPTION: CheckFree uses 40-bit or 128-bit encryption (whichever your browser supports) to make your information unreadable as it passes over the Internet. Your user name and password enable you, and only you, to access your Personal Bill Pay account. You will enter your user name and password each time you sign in to Personal Bill Pay. The automatic sign-out feature automatically logs you off after 10 minutes of inactivity. For your added security you will have to sign in again after 10 minutes or more of inactivity.

 

HOW MUCH OF MY BILL PAYMENT HISTORY IS AVAILABLE ONLINE?
Payment history for the last 6 months is available for immediate viewing. For a record of payment activities prior to the last six months, call (800) 268-5652 or send a message to Checkfree, through the Web Bill Pay website, and request the desired information.

BUSINESS BILL PAY FAQ

 

HOW MUCH DOES VENTURE BANK'S BUSINESS BILL PAY SERVICE COST?
Business Bill Pay is offered free of charge for the first 12 months after enrollment. A monthly fee of $5.95 will be assessed after the first 12 months.

 

HOW DO I ENROLL?
You can enroll in Business Bill Pay at any of our convenient financial center locations, or go to the Online Services page at our website and click the Enrollment link located under Business Bill Pay.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE TO ENROLL?
You will need your business information, i.e.: Tax ID number, and account number.

 

HOW SOON CAN I BEGIN USING THE SERVICE?
To ensure the security of the service, you will be asked to mail in the initial Enrollment Form. Within ten (10) business days following the receipt and processing of the Enrollment Form, you will be able to log in using the ID name and password that you created during the enrollment process. You will then be able to set up your payees and begin paying bills!

 

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN USER LEVELS?
Level 1 grants the user full bill pay access.
Level 2 users schedule and initiate payments as well as approve payments set up by a Level 3 user.
Level 3 users set up and schedule payments but the payments must be approved before processing.

 

CAN I CHANGE THE USER NAMES OR PASSWORDS?
Yes, subscribers may change the user name and password at any time. User names and passwords must be between 4-8 characters, alphanumeric (letters, numbers, or a combination of both).

ONLINE SECURITY TIPS

The following tips can help protect your identity and ensure the privacy of your account information. For additional information, visit our Online Security page.

Venture Bank representatives will never ask you for your Online Banking PIN, Bill Pay PIN, or any other PIN.

Never reveal your Online Banking or Bill Pay PINs to anyone.

If you are asked for any of your Venture Bank IDs and PINs, via e-mail, phone, or written correspondence, please notify us immediately by calling (888) 373-2265 or visiting any financial center location.

Do not write down your Online Banking ID or PIN, your Bill Pay ID or PIN, or leave them where someone can see them.

Protect your Venture Bank Online IDs and PINs: Make sure no one can see you enter them when you access your Online Banking or Bill Pay accounts.

Always sign out of Online Banking and Bill Pay before going to other websites.

Keep all documents that include your account information in a secure location (including ATM receipts, check card receipts, monthly account statements, and especially your Online Banking and Bill Pay PINs).

Notify Venture Bank immediately by calling (888) 373-2265 if you notice any unusual Online Banking account activity.

If you notice any unusual Bill Pay account activity, immediately notify Venture Bank during regular business hours at (888) 373-2265, or notify CheckFree at (800) 268-5652 between 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., PST.
